Sunday Poem and Photograph: What Makes a Father

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majestry of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in spring ,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it… Father

The photograph is taken a week ago just before the summer ends with my hubby and kids.  It was a surprise treat from the man of the house - another unplanned summer escapade where we had so much fun, fun, fun!

Happy Father’s Day to you all GREAT FATHERS in the world!

  12. And a father should never turn his back to his wife and children unless he does not know of a candid shot, kidding aside, I am hoping that all dads should act like dads to their sons and daughters with fairness and love, emo lang. I like your family bonding, wishing for one.

Tomorrow Is Not Promised

I was going around my stuff that I packed two years ago, back in the time when I decided that I’m done with the corporate world.  I realized that I did not check back to this box-load of stuff since I packed it when I exited that world of mine. The sad thing is that, I’m digging this box because I’m looking for a document that will support a stupid system that halted something that I had worked so hard for a couple of weeks.  I was feeling upset and frustrated while doing the digging. I realized there are lots of things in this box that I really really love.  They are of no financial values.  Just the silly stuff that I can’t take away so I just keep them.  As I picked and tousled things, I came across some small notebooks where I used to write anything that I can think of  at the moment. One of the small notebooks is a favorite since college days.  It is covered with my stamp collections and in it are my favorite quotations, prose, phrases and some poems that I personally wrote.

Go Kart at SM Mall of Asia Amusement Complex

I’m doing my usual morning run at the SM Mall of Asia bay side when I spotted this area.  It kind of caught me by surprise seeing this area as colorful and lively because I remember during my last run, this area is used to be surrounded with iron sheets coverings, the same thing when there’s something being constructed inside the coverings.  And then I remembered that I had a short break from my morning run.  It seems like this activity is launched while I was on short break from my morning run.   As usual, every time I see something new that looks exciting, I am excited to share the info to you all.  So for those who are into cars and driving, this one’s for you! “Go Kart” ! It is located along the breakwaters of Manila Bay at the SM Mall of Asia Amusement Complex just right after the The Giant Ferris Wheel/The MOA Eye .  Locational Photo The fee and basic rules Fun and Safety Rules are properly posted in the area but to give you some advance info on what to wear

Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy for the Sick Children

“this place will break your heart, will make you cry, will make you want to reach out, and will make you feel grateful & thankful, all at the same time…”   They are located at: 1030 Tayuman Street, Tondo, Manila. Their telephone number is (+632) 255-0832 and the contact person is Sister Anselm. I wrote that caption in this same season last year, my first time to visit a place called “Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy for the Sick Children”.  I was with a  group of friends along with our respective families.  I could never be thankful enough to our friend Rupert and his family for leading us to this place.  It was not my first time to do a charity visit to an orphanage and I sort of wonder why we were “brief” that this is for special children.  I only realized what that briefing is about when I see for myself how “special” these children are.  I apologize if this may not sound good to some, but the sight of the sick children is heartbreaking.  I tried to look tough and not to
